Security Supervisor

The Security Supervisor plays a key role in leading the day-to-day delivery of security operations across the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Reporting to the Security Manager, the postholder will supervise a team of Security Officers, coordinate operational deployments, manage incidents and ensure the delivery of a safe, secure and welcoming environment for visitors, staff, contractors and residents.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing security department undergoing significant transformation. The role provides operational leadership during routine activities, major events and emergency incidents, while supporting the continued development of our people, systems and procedures. It offers the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to protecting Kew's people, world-renowned collections and reputation while helping to shape the future direction of security across the organisation.

We are looking for an experienced supervisor with a background in security, policing, military service or a similar operational environment. You will have experience of leading teams, coordinating operational activity and making sound decisions under pressure. You should be confident managing incidents, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and maintaining high standards of professionalism, performance and customer service.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, together with experience of security operations and an understanding of security systems such as CCTV, access control, alarm systems and radio communications. A current SIA Door Supervisor licence (or willingness to obtain), a full UK driving licence and the ability to work a rotating shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays, are essential.

Above all, we are looking for someone who leads by example, demonstrates integrity, takes ownership of operational issues and is committed to developing others while delivering an outstanding security service that protects Kew's people, collections and reputation.

The salary for this position is £34,216 per annum [Band C]
