Job Summary

To provide an efficient, high-quality sewing and garment alteration service while supporting the
day-to-day operation of the College Shop, delivering excellent customer service to pupils, parents and
staff

Key Responsibilities

Seamstress

●  Carry out alterations and repairs to school uniform and College garments, including hemming,

resizing, repairs and adjustments

●  Ensure all sewing work is completed accurately, safely and within agreed timescales

●  Maintain sewing equipment and ensure a safe and tidy working environment

●  Manage alteration requests and keep accurate records where required

College Shop Assistant

●  Assist with the daily operation of the College Shop including sales of uniform and College

merchandise

●  Operate the till and handle cash/card payments accurately

●  Assist with stock control, ordering, deliveries and stock presentation

●  Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the shop

●  Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider College community

any other duties as may be reasonably required by his/her line manager

the changing needs of the department and College.

Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy

It is the post holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children.  You will
comply with the Pangbourne College Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, and the requirement to
report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead any concerns relating to the safety or welfare of children.

Terms and Conditions of Service

The post holder will be required to comply with all policies and procedures issued by and on behalf of the

College.

The post holder will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate.

The post holder will be required to participate in the College’s appraisal procedures as an appraise and if
applicable, as an appraiser.

The post holder will be required to attend statutory and mandatory training.
