School Minibus Driver (Various hours available)

The Appointment

We are seeking conscientious, approachable, and flexible drivers who enjoy working with young people and values creating a welcoming, inclusive environment. There are various hours available and we could be open to appointing somebody who would do both morning and evening shifts.

Job Title:                     School Minibus Driver

Reports To:                 Transport Manager

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To drive Preparatory School and College minibuses and other vehicles as
  • To carry out pre and post journey driver’s vehicle checks.
  • To carry out minor maintenance checks such as checking/topping up oils, changing bulbs etc.
  • To keep the vehicle clean and tidy inside and outside.
  • To assist and supervising passengers as necessary.
  • To assist other College staff as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence with a D1 entitlement (essential for minibus operation).
  • Due to vehicle insurance requirements, applicants must be within the insurer-approved age range of 23 to 70.
  • Be willing to attend and pass a minibus driving assessment test/MiDAS.
  • Be willing to complete and pass the Disclosure and Barring Service vetting process.

This job description sets out main duties at the time when it was drawn up. Such duties may vary occasionally but without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.

Terms and Conditions

  • Salary is £13.68 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
  • This is a term-time only position.
  • Hours of work available are:
    • Monday – Friday 6.00am – 8.15am
    • Monday – Friday 8.15am – 9.15am
    • Saturday 6.30am – 8.45am
    • Monday – Friday 5.30pm – 7.45pm
  • The employment is subject to a probationary period of twelve months. During the probationary period, two weeks’ notice will be required on either side. Following probation, the notice period shall be one month or the statutory minimum requirement.
