To provide front-of-house and retail support, assisting customers with purchases, processing sales transactions and maintaining an organised and welcoming shop environment.

Provides customer-facing retail support within established procedures. Responsible for processing sales, maintaining stock records and promoting products online. Operates with limited discretion and escalates non-routine or complex issues to the line manager.

Financial & Resource Responsibility

Processes retail transactions and handles cash in accordance with company procedures. No direct budget responsibility.

People Responsibility

No formal line management responsibility.

Principle Accountabilities

• Provide high-quality customer service, ensuring customers receive accurate information and support with purchasing decisions

• Process sales transactions accurately through the till system and maintain associated records

• Upload new items to retail systems and ensure pricing and stock records are accurate

• Maintain an organised, well-presented shop environment and monitor stock levels

• Order stock and manage deliveries, ensuring goods are received, checked and recorded appropriately.

• Provide reception support, including meeting visitors, answering telephone and email enquiries.

Planning and Organising 

Plans and prioritises day-to-day retail tasks, responding flexibly to customer demand and delivery schedules.

Decision-Making/Use of Judgement

Exercises judgement within defined retail procedures. Escalates more complex customer complaints or operational issues to the line manager.

Problem Solving & Complexity

Resolves routine customer service and transactional issues. More complex or sensitive matters are referred to management. Errors could result in financial discrepancies or reduced customer satisfaction.

Essential:

• Intermediate Microsoft 365 skills (Word and Excel)

• Confident user of social media platforms (e.g. Facebook)

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Good telephone manner

• Ability to operate retail software and handle cash accurately

• High levels of integrity and attention to detail

Desirable:

• Previous experience in retail or reception environments

Working Conditions:
