We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester, offering a wide range of services to support our patients, and their loved ones, who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness.

The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we support over 330 patients at any one time between our In Patient Unit and Community teams.

Being a Sales Assistant at St Wilfrid’s

Part time 15 – 22.5 hours | Permanent | Arundel

We are very excited to be opening our brand-new boutique store in Arundel; this is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new, right from the very start. We will be looking for 2 Sales Assistants to join and both roles will be part-time; and we can offer either 15 or 22.5 hours per week.

As a sales assistant your role will be to:

  • Support the Shop Manager in offering excellent customer and sales service to customers and donors in the Shop
  • Maintain awareness of the Hospice to enhance the profile and reputation within the community
  • Handle, sort and merchandise donations in order to minimise waste and maximise retail income generation
  • Maximise sales through good product knowledge and maintaining high presentation standards within the shop at all times
  • Assist with daily operational activities including key holder, cash handling and shop opening/closing

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment, ideally retail
  • Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
  • Basic IT skills and willingness to learn new tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Right to work in the UK
