The difference you will make as a RPEEPS Surveyor
The Residential PEEPs Surveyor is a specialist role responsible for ensuring that all residents who may require assistance during an emergency are identified, assessed, and supported through the creation of compliant and person-centred Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs). 
You will perform comprehensive, sensitive, and legally aligned person-centred fire risk assessments (PCFRAs) for vulnerable residents, identifying tailored mitigation measures that reduce fire and evacuation risk across the organisation’s housing stock. This role is central to meeting emerging legal obligations under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations, new Residential PEEPs requirements, the Building Safety Act, and employer duties relating to vulnerable occupants. It ensures that residents with disabilities, cognitive impairment, sensory needs, mobility limitations, or other vulnerabilities have a safe and effective means of evacuation.

About you
We are looking for someone with:
• Extensive experience in the building industry, ideally working within a customer focussed housing repair, maintenance, planned or compliance team with a strong understanding of building maintenance terminology and repair activities.
•  Experience in fire safety, housing, building safety, adult social care, or a similar compliance focused field.  focused field. 
•  Strong understanding of fire safety principles, human behaviour in fire, and vulnerability risk factors. 
•  Experience conducting structured assessments with residents, including gathering sensitive information. 
•  Ability to identify reasonable adjustments, behavioural mitigation and emergency planning solutions

Role Profile
•    Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Housing Managers, Scheme Managers, Duty holders, Care & Support teams and external partners to identify residents who may require a PEEP. 
•    Proactively monitor referrals, building data, incident reports, and vulnerability indicators to ensure no resident is missed. 
•    Carry out initial engagement with residents sensitively, explaining the purpose of PEEPs, gathering relevant personal information, and ensuring residents feel supported and respected.
•    Conduct structured PCFRAs in residents’ homes, assessing mobility, sensory needs, cognitive function, medical conditions, communication barriers, sleep risk, behavioural factors and environmental obstacles. 
•    Identify individual fire related hazards and recommend practical mitigation measures, ranging from assistive technology to environmental changes, resident behaviour adjustments, care support, or building-level modifications.  related hazards and recommend practical mitigation measures, ranging from assistive technology to environmental changes, resident behaviour adjustments, care support, or building-level modifications. 
•    Ensure all assessments comply with relevant fire safety legislation, equality duties and regulatory standards.
•    Ensure PEEPs are written in clear, accessible language suitable for residents, families, carers and staff. 
•    Review PEEPs in response to changes in health, environment, building risk, or resident circumstances.
•    Undertake QA Peer Reviews on Riverside Partners PEEPS to ensure consistent, suitable mitigation and documentation.Additional Information•    The Group has offices across the UK and on this basis, there will be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role. 
•    The role will be exposed to sensitive information, therefore the role holder is expected to maintain levels of confidentiality at all times.
•    In order to fulfil the requirements of this role, you will be required to work flexibly during the hours of operation. 
•    It is a requirement that the role holder holds a current, valid UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle, when required.
