With 18 locations and a brilliant team of staff and volunteers, we’re proud to support people when they need us most.
Hours: 30 hours per week (5 days in 7 – to include some Sundays and Bank Holidays)
What is the role?
As Retail Store Manager, you’ll take the lead in:
- Maximising sales and footfall through outstanding visual merchandising and customer experience.
- Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers and an Assistant Store Manager.
- Driving Gift Aid donations and meeting income targets.
- Managing stock, cash handling and compliance with health, safety, and trading standards.
- Being a community ambassador for Prospect Hospice and a role model for our values.
You will work collaboratively and engage with the community to build a team of volunteers, attract desirable donations and make the store a destination.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in retail management, ideally in the charity or voluntary sector.
- A strong leader with a positive, people-focused approach.
- Sales driven with excellent customer service and creative visual merchandising skills.
- Experience in volunteer supervision, stock control, and customer service.
- Confident managing targets, cash handling, and store security.
- Flexible, organised, and committed to making everyday count.
- Hold a full driving licence and be flexible to cover other stores in our catchment area when needed.
This is an active role involving regular lifting and moving of stock and extended periods on your feet. Manual handling training will be provided.
