Location: Wolverhampton, WV3 9DH
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,110 per annum
What we do
Compton Care provides high quality, accessible care and support for the people in our communities living with life limiting conditions across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire.
The charity’s annual running costs are £16 million, 70% of this running cost is funded through our stores, fundraising, and donations from our amazing supporters.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for the day-to-day central operations of our Retail stores and will play a vital role in leading processes to ensure the safeguarding of the organisation. A key component of the role is the strategic management of New Goods—from supplier relationships and stock planning to financial performance—ensuring product ranges align with customer demand and organisational targets. You will work alongside a wonderful team of staff and volunteers, who you will supervise to support both front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and develop a range of new goods that meets customer needs.
- To be efficient in managing and planning accounts, stock, systems and other administration duties.
- Have a strong background in dealing with shrinkage and markdowns to support better sales and help reach targets.
- Experience of working with teams and suppliers to control stocks using best practices.
- Ensure the smooth running of day-to-day business.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, compliance and regulations within a Trading setting.
- Use Microsoft Office, SAGE, EPOS and IT systems for cash handling, stock management, HR, Health & Safety & financial management processes.
- Experience of GOV.uk rate relief and valuation.
- Understanding of leases and maintaining all relevant documents.
- Support delivery of excellent customer service.
What We’re Looking For:
You will have proven experience of handling stock, using Gift Aid and the compliance surrounding the process. You will know how to priority diffident tasks with the ability to delegate to others when needed to ensure targets are met.
You will need to produce accurate accounts, maintain systems and documents and have excellent knowledge of IT, SAGE and EPOS.
You will be able to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and stockholders.
