POSITION

OVERVIEW

Each year our team of Resident Graduate Assistants
provide vital support across the school.

Living on site and taking part in a wide range of
duties, our graduates have the opportunity to gain
extensive insight into the life of a busy prep school.

The primary responsibility of our graduate assistants
is to support the boarding team, providing
assistance to the school’s Houseparents and wider
boarding staff to ensure that all boarders have a
positive and enriching experience throughout the
year. This includes specific chaperoning
responsibilities for the students who sing as
Choristers in the world-renowned choir of St
George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

In addition, each graduate has a specialist focus, whether performing arts,
sport or marketing, working closely with their respective department to
further the aims of that team.

Considered a full member of school staff, our graduate assistants perform break and lunch duties and
contribute to the co-curricular programme, as well as supporting other school activities and events as
required. This currently includes helping with weekly Pre-Prep swimming lessons, accompanying school
trips and assisting with events such as concerts and sports days.

Compliance with both St George’s School Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle
safeguarding policies and procedures is a mandatory requirement.

With such a varied role, we require individuals who are keen to throw themselves into the busy life of our
school, injecting energy and enthusiasm in all that they do.

The above list is not intended to be exhaustive and staff may be expected to undertake other duties as
reasonably requested by their faculty lead or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Details of the terms
and conditions of employment at St George’s are to be found in the Staff Contract.

concerts, tours, and special events such as the annual Garter Day Service.

While most of chaperoning role will take place during term time, Chorister stay-ons take place twice a year
- over Christmas and Easter - and it is a requirement that Graduate Assistants are on duty at these times.
Further work in school holidays may additionally be required in the exceptional event of a special Chapel
service warranting the Choristers’ involvement (for example a state visit or royal wedding).

The above list is not intended to be exhaustive and staff may be expected to undertake other duties as
reasonably requested by their faculty lead or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Details of the terms
