The Vacancy
Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Research Specialist - Implementation and Operations Research on a permanent, full time basis to join our technical team to be based in either Uganda or Nigeria.
Role Purpose:
The Research Specialist will strengthen Malaria Consortium’s capacity to bridge the know–do gap by advancing the use of implementation science to understand how programmes are implemented in real-world settings and how they can be improved, adapted, and scaled. The incumbent will support the Malaria Consortium global and country teams and external partners to generate and use high-quality evidence that strengthens Malaria Consortium, the Ministry of Health and partner learning, adaptation, and decision-making
The post holder is required to have:
- Postgraduate degree in social sciences, public health, or a related field with strong training in qualitative and mixed methods research.
- Demonstrated experience in implementation science, health systems research, or applied public health research.
- Demonstrated expertise with mixed methods research, including study design, data collection, and analysis.
- Experience working in low- and middle-income country settings.
- Proven ability to translate complex research findings into clear, practical insights for decision-makers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Track record of peer-reviewed journals
- Experience contributing to peer-reviewed publications and international conferences
- Strong skills in operations and/or implementation research, including mixed methods research
- Solid understanding of public health and health systems principles
- Good quantitative and qualitative data analysis and data presentation skills
- Proficient user of statistical software such as STATA or R.
- Strong skills in using qualitative analytic software such as NVivo, Atlas Ti, etc
- Proven academic/scientific publication writing skills • Effective presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
- Ability to provide remote and in-person technical support
- Excellent project management, organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
