This is a truly exciting time to join the Fundraising Team. As Fauna & Flora continues to strengthen its global impact, we are investing in the systems, insight, and intelligence needed to support a more ambitious fundraising programme. Our work with donors is expanding rapidly, and the ability to identify new prospects, markets, and networks is becoming increasingly central to our success.

The Research Officer, External Insight & Private Sector will play a key role in supporting this growth. You will lead on identifying and qualifying new prospects, monitoring developments across philanthropic and private sector landscapes, and ensuring that Fauna & Flora is well-positioned to pursue emerging opportunities. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the role ensures that early-stage engagement is informed, targeted, and strategically aligned.

You will bring excellent research skills, sound judgement, and a disciplined approach to data, alongside the ability to translate insight into clear, practical recommendations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, is motivated by improving systems and understanding complex landscapes, and is keen to support an organisation delivering globally important work for people, nature, and climate.

You will be part of a small but expert Research & Insight function, working alongside the Research & Insight Manager and an existing Research & Insight Officer. Together, the function brings complementary regional, thematic, and donor‑type expertise, supporting colleagues across the full spectrum of prospect identification, qualification, and insight, and creating a collaborative environment in which this role can thrive.

In return, we offer the opportunity to work for a ground‑breaking organisation at the forefront of global conservation, with a generous pension contribution, attractive annual leave allowance, and life insurance.

Our offices are based in the David Attenborough Building in central Cambridge, within easy reach of historic buildings and museums, the River Cam, the central market, and a wide range of cafés and restaurants.
