Mencap are seeking Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team across the Wirral area .

As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Supporting individuals across Prenton, Oxton , Rock Ferry , Moreton and Bromborough ages 35-85. Some of the activities the individuals we support enjoy are swimming, Bingo, Music especially live music , Listening to staff playing the guitar and singing, theatre , cinema, long walks, shopping , eating out are just several examples.  If you are sociable and enjoy a chat  and getting out and about this may be the job for you. You will also be required to push wheelchairs and carry out personal care along side the daily up keep and cleaning , Medicines administration and recording using a electronic device.  

What we're looking for:

·      A genuine passion for supporting others.

·      Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

·      Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·      A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Some of our services have a mobility car so a full driving licence is a plus but not a must .

Cooking skills are also a must along side being a swimmer

Shift times:

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

·  Shift patterns can vary from 10am-10pm , sleep shift , wake night 10pm-8am, various day shifts 8-4. 10-5.30. 4pm-10pm 

There is also a non contractual sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment
