Sense has a great opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Relief support worker based at our Rig Drive supported living service, Mexborough. This is a Relief role paying £13/hr with flexible shifts across the week. Supporting individuals with variety of complex needs.

About the role

  • As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose
  • You will support individuals and encourage them to make choices, to express themselves and to develop independent living and life skills
  • Supporting people at college to learn new skills such as cooking, gardening, music or on trips to locations such as swimming pools, parks and shopping centres

About you

  • An awareness of multi-sensory and complex needs
  • Able to demonstrate that you possess the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives
  • A willingness to undertake personal care for our more vulnerable learners
  • Flexibility, as working times do vary and may include weekends and evenings, we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly

A full manual UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Positive, with a can-do attitude
  • Caring, patient, and empathetic
  • Flexible and comfortable working across a varied shift pattern
  • Willing to attend training and develop in their role

This role might include supporting people with:

  • Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Finances and medication
  • Going into the community for activities, shopping, and social events
