Relief Assistant Youth Worker

The Salvation Army Youth and Community Centre in Aston, Birmingham, provides a wide range of activities and support for local young people - including schools work, 1-2-1 mentoring, detached projects, music production qualifications, afterschool drop-in clubs, sports coaching and youth bible studies.

We work closely with local schools, police, churches, and other community organisations in the area. In this role you will become a part of a dynamic team and community whose goal is to make a lasting difference in the area.

Key Responsibilities: To provide cover in fulfilling the role of the Assistant Youth Worker duties and responsibilities on an as required basis; to cover for absences such as holidays and sickness absence.   The Assistant Youth Worker role supports in the delivery of existing youth work programmes, for young people aged 7-25yrs, and working with their families.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate: A passion and desire to work with young people and members of the community; a willingness to learn and develop relevant skills and to integrate themselves and apply context to a range of diverse cultures. Able to work in sympathy with the organisation’s Christian principles & aims. Flexibility to be able to respond to short notice requests for work
