Lead with heart. Shape the future. Change lives.

At St Elizabeth’s, we don’t just provide care — we create homes where children and young people feel safe, valued and inspired to thrive.

We are a specialist centre supporting children and young people with epilepsy, autism and other complex needs. From our unique 60-acre site in Much Hadham, we bring together education, health, therapy and residential care to deliver truly holistic support and we are now looking for an exceptional Registered Manager to lead one of our Ofsted-registered residential homes.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a forward-thinking, values-led organisation where your expertise, vision and compassion will directly shape young lives.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will be the Ofsted-registered leader of one of our children’s homes, setting the tone, culture and standards for outstanding care.

You will lead a dedicated, multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing, aspirational home where children feel secure, supported and empowered to grow. Beyond day-to-day leadership, you’ll play a key role in driving continuous improvement and contributing to St Elizabeth’s wider residential strategy.

This is a role for someone who wants to build something special and understands that outstanding care is felt in everyday moments, not just inspection outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold full Ofsted registration and legal accountability for a children’s home

  • Lead, inspire and develop teams to deliver consistently outstanding care

  • Ensure excellence in safeguarding, quality standards and regulatory compliance

  • Embed a culture of reflective practice, learning and continuous improvement

  • Manage budgets, staffing and resources to deliver best-value, high-quality care

  • Build strong partnerships with families, local authorities and internal services

  • Champion the voices, rights and independence of every young person

About You

You are a confident, compassionate leader who believes children deserve more than “good enough”.

You bring both professional credibility and emotional intelligence, with the ability to inspire teams and lead through challenge and change.

You will have:

  • Proven experience managing an Ofsted-registered children’s home

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation and quality frameworks

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent

  • A Level 5 Leadership qualification (or willingness to work towards it)

  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills

Most importantly, you share our belief that every child deserves a joyful, ambitious and compassionate place to call home.

What We Offer

We value our leaders and invest in their wellbeing and development. In return, we offer:

  • 27 days’ annual leave + bank holidays

  • 20% uplift for weekend overtime

  • Free DBS and on-site parking

  • Blue Light Card discounts

  • Discounted gym membership at Manor of Groves

  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing platform

  • A supportive senior leadership team and genuine opportunities to shape services
