37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday (condensed hours considered)
£60,303.38 – £64,331.43 per annum, depending on experience


A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are essential for this role due to the requirement to work across the region and within the community.

Sue Ryder Berkshire West provides hospice and community nursing services across Berkshire West and South Oxfordshire, including Reading, Newbury, Wokingham, Wallingford and Henley, alongside many surrounding communities.



About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate clinical leader to oversee and develop our regional community services, including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and Hospice at Home teams.

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, you will lead community-based clinical teams, drive service improvement, support high-quality person-centred care and build strong partnerships across the wider healthcare system.


You will also:


Lead and support multidisciplinary regional teams

Monitor service quality, performance and outcomes

Support and coach colleagues through effective leadership

Develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Lead change and service development initiatives

Promote safe, inclusive and equitable care delivery

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and influence palliative and end-of-life care services across the region.


About You


You will be a Registered Nurse with significant clinical and leadership experience within community healthcare services.


You will bring strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, alongside a passion for delivering outstanding palliative and end-of-life care.


You will ideally have:


Extensive experience in palliative and end-of-life care

Experience leading teams through change and service development

Strong partnership and stakeholder management skills

Experience working collaboratively across healthcare organisations and community services

The ability to manage complex workloads and competing priorities

A commitment to inclusive leadership and equitable access to care

A non-medical prescribing qualification, mentorship/assessor award and continued professional development are desirable.



Essential Criteria


NMC registered and leadership experience within a community-based clinical team

Ability to travel independently

Relevant management qualification or equivalent experience

Relevant degree (preferably Master level) or demonstrable experience

Skilled in inclusive team management and communication

Commitment to equitable access and service user dignity
