Are you a skilled communications professional looking to make a meaningful difference? Emmaus UK is seeking a passionate and proactive Regional Communications Officer to support Emmaus charities across the South of England, helping them raise their profile, engage supporters and showcase their impact.

As part of the Emmaus UK communications team, you will work closely with Emmaus communities, providing strategic and practical communications support tailored to their needs. From media relations and digital communications to campaign planning and content creation, you’ll help local Emmaus organisations achieve their goals while contributing to the wider Emmaus communications strategy.

This role is delivered through an agreed service level agreement and requires someone who can build strong relationships, manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality communications activity across a diverse range of stakeholders.

Initially, you will support:

  • Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney
  • Emmaus Colchester
  • Emmaus Suffolk

Regular monthly travel to these communities will be required, we are therefore looking for a candidate based in or near these locations or the surrounding areas, or within approximately two to two-and-a-half hours’ travel by car or train.

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home or from within an Emmaus community. You will also attend quarterly team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, although occasionally elsewhere in the UK. Some meetings may require an overnight stay.

Please note that due to the level of service delivery required, this position is only available on a full-time basis.

Emmaus is a unique, secular organisation supporting people affected by homelessness and social exclusion. There are currently 30 Emmaus communities and groups across the UK, stretching from Glasgow to Dover and Norfolk to South Wales.

Each Emmaus community provides a home, tailored support, training and work opportunities to the people they support – known as companions. Collectively, the Emmaus federation supports more than 850 people with experience of homelessness.

Emmaus is different to many homelessness charities because it offers more than just a bed for the night. Emmaus provides longer-term support, stability, opportunities to gain skills and experience, and a strong sense of community to help people rebuild their lives.

Please complete the application form and equal opportunities monitoring form and email them to jobs@emmaus.org.uk by 9am Sunday 7 June.

Please ensure you download the applicant pack and refer to the job description and person specification when completing your application form.
