Hours & working Pattern:35 hours per week (full time)- Hours for part-time roles (negotiable)- Generally, Monday to Friday / Negotiable for part-time role
All team members must work flexibly on occasions to meet the needs of the Charity and the people we support
Optional participation in the organisation’s Tier 2 emergency on call rota (paid)

Purpose of the post:
Deliver support for families with children and young people aged 25 and under (including antenatally), living within the Caerphilly County Borough Council area, who are victims/survivors of domestic abuse.
As a Family Support Worker, you will provide tailored specialist support/interventions to children, young people (aged 0–25), and families impacted by domestic abuse and/or at high-risk of serious harm.
You will deliver 1:1 support and group work interventions, which are trauma informed, are promoting safety, resilience, and recovery and will work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure families receive the right support at the right time.
Cyfannol Women’s Aid provides person-centred, needs-led and trauma-informed support to families, children and young people (0-25) who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse via tailored and individual pathways that build on their strengths.
Specific responsibilities:
Work with families, children, and young people (0-25) including antenatal in a trauma-informed, empowering, and solution-focused approach.
Deliver trauma-informed 1:1 and group support with both families, children, and young people between the ages of 0-25 who have experienced or witnessed VAWDSV as required.
Facilitate structured group programmes, including parenting interventions.
Engage with children, young people, and families, and carry out person-led assessments, risk assessments, safety planning, support plans and evaluations.
Provide person-led, detailed support packages for the families, children and young people, identifying goals, aspirations, needs and underpinning health relationships.
Provide family safety work in the home for those not eligible for IDVA or Housing Related support. Including target hardening and home security support
Conduct pre-intervention sessions to assess needs and build engagement
Support families, children, and young people to identify and break the cycles of abuse through increasing knowledge of health relationships, behaviours, and understanding of domestic abuse. Such as coercive and abusive behaviours
Work within an empowering, solution focused and individual approachable and engaging manner, building positive relationships based on trust and respec
Co-locate within Supporting Family Change (SFC) for a minimum of 3 days/week
Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to case planning
Maintain accurate case records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation
Provide practical and emotional support, including advocacy to access wider services
Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policy
Liaise with external agencies to identify families, children and young people (0-25) who may benefit from the project
Prioritise and manage caseloads in line with packages of support and support plans
Ensure accurate and timely records are maintained in relation to all aspects of the service and case work, including inputting information into our Information Management System
Advocate on behalf of families, children and young people and ensure that everyone feels safe, supported and listened to within our service and in dealings with other agencies
Identify tech-enabled abuse, including coercive control via digital platforms, image-based abuse, and online harassment and provide support advice and guidance in this area
Support families through ‘good beginnings’ and ‘good endings’ with signposting to community resources
Assist in qualitative and quantitative data collation
Promote the service in the local area

Contribute to Cyfannol’s environmental goals by participating in carbon-reducing initiatives, including the organisation’s pledge campaign
Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the effective delivery of support services and the wider aims of the organisation
It may be necessary, following consultation, to amend the job description in light of experience and changing circumstances.
This role requires frequent travel for business purposes. A current valid driving licence, access to a car and insurance covering business use
