Job Title: Recovery Support Worker (Male Service)
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week including bank holidays
Holidays: 33 days per annum
Pension: Auto enrolment pension in force (6% employer contribution)
Are you passionate about supporting individuals in overcoming addiction and trauma? The Nelson Trust is seeking a dedicated Recovery Support Worker to join our team in Stroud in our men's service. In this role, you will support clients in CQC regulated residential addiction treatment, addressing their practical needs alongside the clinical team. This varied role requires a passionate, energetic, and supportive individual who can assist clients with housing, financial claims, and health matters, ensuring they engage fully with their treatment programme.
What you will do
- Support clients with day‑to‑day practical needs, including housing, benefits, health and appointments.
- Help clients engage in their treatment programme and maintain a safe, cohesive residential environment.
- Welcome new admissions and support with prescription collection and medication administration.
- Review care plans, and client records, ensuring clients adhere to treatment rules.
- Work with internal teams and external agencies to provide coordinated care.
- Work across Stroud sites and transport clients when required.
- Ensure CQC compliance.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Knowledge or experience of working in a residential addiction treatment setting.
- Knowledge or experience working in a CQC‑regulated environment.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Car driver with a full clean driving licence.
- Ability to prioritise workload with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to build therapeutic, supportive relationships with clients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and make considered decisions.
Desirable
- Experience administering prescription medication (training provided).
- First aid and health & safety awareness (or willingness to train).
- NVQ Level 2+ in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Food hygiene training (or willingness to achieve).
