About the Role
As a Health Improvement Recovery Worker, you will provide vital health improvement support alongside our clinical partners. This includes helping to deliver community alcohol detoxes, conducting home visits, and offering ongoing recovery support.
You’ll be a key player in engaging service users with recovery pathways, providing psychosocial interventions, and linking them to community-based resources that enhance health and wellbeing.
What You’ll Do
Manage a
caseloadof service users and deliver a range ofpsychosocial interventions.Work
autonomouslyas well as collaboratively within amulti-disciplinary team.Conduct
risk assessments, recovery planning, and referrals to internal and external services.Facilitate
group sessionstailored to the diverse needs of individuals in treatment.Support clinical teams with
community alcohol detoxes, including follow-up visits.Engage with at-risk clients as part of the
Reach team, focusing onBlood Borne Virus (BBV)testing and treatment referrals.Distribute and provide
training on Naloxoneto service users to support harm reduction.
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:
We are seeking someone who is:
- Motivated, with a strong belief in the potential for recovery at any stage.
- Experiencedin supporting people with substance misuse issues, ideally with health improvement or detox-related work.
Skilled in
communication,risk management, and delivering person-centred support.Confident facilitating groups and working independently in the community.
Comfortable with home visits and flexible in their approach to meet client needs.
Help shape better futures in Dorset—one person, one recovery journey at a time.
Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.
