The Vacancy
Are you looking for a role where you can make a positive influence in people’s lives? Are you passionate about supporting people to recover from addiction? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you as a Recovery & Engagement Coach to join our Arrows service!
Your New Opportunity
We are currently recruiting a Recovery Coach & Engagement Coach in Moray to provide targeted, assertive support for adults and families experiencing substance use and alcohol-related issues.
This is a hybrid role, combining the structured, recovery-focused case management of a Recovery Coach with the proactive outreach and practical support of a Fieldworker.
You will support adults affected by drug and/or alcohol use through:
- Assessment, risk formulation, and recovery planning
- One-to-one coaching and ongoing review work
- Assertive outreach and re-engagement for individuals who may be ambivalent, at increased risk, or facing barriers to treatment
- Harm reduction interventions and BBV-related engagement, including support to access testing, vaccination, and treatment pathways
- Practical, person-centred support with housing, finances, appointments, benefits, wellbeing, and social reintegration
Support will be delivered across a range of settings including office bases, partner venues, community locations, and home visits where appropriate.
In practice, you will blend ongoing case management and treatment planning with proactive, field-based support—helping to strengthen continuity of care, improve engagement with MAT Standards, and increase access to wider health, housing, welfare, and recovery services.
You will also work collaboratively with key partners including MIDAS, NHS Grampian, Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service, housing, and social work teams to ensure individuals receive the best possible support.
This role contributes to trauma-informed practice, MAT Standards delivery, and continuous service improvement, while offering strong professional development opportunities.
Working Pattern; This is a full-time, permanent role (39 hours per week). You will work flexibly across a balanced rota, including occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of those we support. We are committed to work-life balance, and you will always receive your schedule in advance.
What You Will Bring
- Reliability, flexibility, and a positive, person-centred attitude
- Experience supporting individuals with addiction and/or mental health challenges
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills
- Ability to work independently, in the community, and as part of a wider team
- Confidence in outreach, engagement, and managing complex or high-risk situations
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
Knowledge and/or experience in:
- Recovery-oriented systems of care
- Trauma-informed practice
- MAT Standards
- Harm reduction approaches and BBV awareness
- Adult and child protection legislation and practice
