The following attributes are considered essential for the job:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitating excellent communication between staff, visitors and guests.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience of working in a receptionist role or administration-based role where there has been some contact with the public.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent computer literacy with knowledge of word processing, databases, spreadsheets and the internet.
  • A willingness to learn about the work of the charity and whenever possible promote our aims and objectives.
  • Post holders need to have a full, clean driving license. 

The following attributes are considered desirable for the job:

  • Experience of working with people with disabilities and specifically hearing loss.
  • Deaf awareness training.
