Rookwood School Vacancy Details Position: Reception Teacher Hours of Work: Part Time (0.4) Contract terms: Permanent Contract type: Term Time Ideal Start date: 01/09/2026 Place of Work: Rookwood School, Weyhill Road, Andover SP10 3AL We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring, committed and well qualified Reception class teacher to join and work in our well-established Prep School. This is a Permanent, Part time role teaching 2 days per week starting in September 2026. Nestled on a leafy site in Andover, Rookwood School is a happy and thriving learning environment for pupils aged 6 months to 16 years. We encourage our pupils to question, explore, and achieve more than they ever thought possible. We are looking for a Reception class teacher who can; • Contribute to the vision of the Prep School through the delivery of engaging lessons and exciting opportunities throughout the school. • Work with the Head of Prep / SLT to monitor and evaluate the department’s schemes of work alongside development plans and departmental policies. • Ensure the students are fully supported, academically and pastorally, working closely with the Head of Prep / SLT • Have good knowledge of the EYFS and ensure that this is used effectively to monitor student’s attainment in order to secure good progress whilst in Reception • Set expectations and targets for pupils and effectively monitor to ensure progress is being made • Reflect on their own teaching skills and take appropriate action to continuously improve the quality of teaching and learning • Ensure assessment, curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in learning for pupils of all ages and abilities, including special educational needs and EAL In return we will offer you: • A professional, hardworking and supportive team of staff with the capability and desire to raise student achievement even further • Enthusiastic students who are willing to learn and are proud of their learning environment • Opportunities for further professional development • Employee assistance provision • Access to reduced educational fees for qualifying children • A caring and supportive working environment within a vibrant school community Applications are invited to be submitted via our online application portal: https://applicant.website/i/65A755/vacancy-info/0000001206 The closing date for application is – 8th May 2026.
