ROLE PROFILE Role Details Job Title: Quality Manager (Veterinary Nursing) Department: Veterinary Nursing Responsible for: None Location: Home Based Line Manager Job Title: Head of Industry Partnership Created: April 2025 Job Goal The purpose of the Quality Manager (Veterinary Nursing) role is to ensure that the quality of the Lantra Veterinary Nursing qualifications and End Point Assessments are delivered to the standards required of RCVS and the qualification regulatory bodies within the UK. The role will manage the Lantra relationship with RCVS to ensure that the content of Lantra qualifications and End Point Assessments meet the required standards. The key responsibilities for this role are: • Maintaining the Lantra relationship with RCVS • Managing the Quality Assurance of Providers delivering the Lantra qualification • Managing the External Quality Assurance team • Maintaining compliance with RCVS requirements • Managing the quality assurance of assessments to ensure correct decisions and awards are made Role Responsibilities Responsibility Maintaining compliance with RCVS Scrutinising existing EQA documentation as well as other quality documentation Evaluating key information from providers in relation to RCVS requirements Analysing Lantra policies and processes in relation to RCVS requirements to ensure compliance Quality Assurance Activity Complete Lantra Representative visits on providers Standardise the EQA team to ensure consistent decision making Ensure EQA activity completed to ensure quality of qualifications within the VN team Organise the validation of assessment decisions, through moderation and verification, to comply with the quality assurance strategy. Process EQA reports. Outcomes and measures Ensuring documentation meets RCVS standards in order to maintain compliance and accreditation Reviewing provider RCVS audit documentation and reports to support them prior to and after their RCVS audits. Reviewing existing Lantra documentation and creating new documents to ensure that Lantra has processes and policies that comply with RCVS requirements. Audit potential new and existing providers to allow them to continue delivering Lantra qualifications should any require intervention Annual standardisation for EQAs for the qualifications sitting within the team. Plan, co-ordinate and deliver the EQA activity for the qualifications within the team. Monitoring delivery against expected timeframes, in line with Centre Assessment Standards Scrutiny (CASS). To ensure satisfactory sampling of assessment decisions takes place. Actions and sanctions are recorded. 1 Monitoring of IEPA & EQA performance Review and approve apprentice Gateway requests Manage spot checks of MCQ exams where planned. Carry out IEPA IQA and record outcomes Quality management (RCVS) Plan, co-ordinate and manage the quality monitoring activities of centres and training practices Ensure delivery of bi-annual standardisation for EQAs Organise risk assessed Provider quality assurance monitoring - QA activity to ensure the required standard follows the quality assurance strategy. Ensure all RCVS audit requirements are met Reporting to regulatory body Support the completion of SAR for RCVS EQA reports made available to stakeholders. Provide reports to RCM on request. Information for investigation reports is compiled and is accurately based on findings. Reported to RCM where necessary. Use of ACE360 platform to complete the certification process for End Point Assessment Providers are ‘spot checked’ based on their risk ratings IQA in line with Lantra QA Process and Plan All centres audited in line with Lantra and RCVS requirements Deliver standardisation based on issues and actions raised during the previous year and any new requirements that arise. QA visits deliver KPI targets. Recording non- conformances found and outcomes. Sample planning controls RCVS Audit reports and actions are managed and actioned Monthly reporting to RCVS of Provider RAG and monitoring activities bi-annually. Organising RCVS auditing activity with EQA. Support VNDAM in producing the annual SAR to the requirements of RCVS Quality Assurance of the qualification and assessments Quality assurance of qualification to ensure it meets RCVS standards and framework Quality assurance of assessments Quality assure the performance of the OSCE Advise providers and authorise RPL of Learners Review, authorise, where required, and ensure reasonable adjustment requests are met Work with VNPO and Awarding and Certification to ensure effective internal systems Communicate the learner achievements to Regulatory Body Support the delivery of the OSCE Social and Public Relations Attendance at events as required (BVNA) Provide support to individual Providers, Training Practices and Clinical Supervisors, as required Review qualification against standards to ensure that it is fit for purpose Review the performance of assessments to ensure integrity of results Review the performance of the OSCE and the results, producing reports ahead of sign off with VNDAM & Chief Examiner. Process and document all RPL requests in agreed SLAs. Process and document all Reasonable Adjustment requests in agreed SLAs Ensure completion of required paperwork and confirmation of results on system to allow Certificates to be issued within SLAs Timely processing of results to allow Professional Registration of learners who achieve the qualification. Provide support for the team on the delivery of the OSCE, where necessary.
