About the role

We are looking to recruit a mid-level Program Officer for the role of Protection and Partnership Program Officer for Maternity Coverage. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in time-bound humanitarian response programs and excellent coordination and collaboration skills, particularly with partners in the Northwest regions of Myanmar. The role will be based in Yangon, Myanmar, and is recruited on a national contract basis for a 10-month fixed term (Maternity Leave Cover).

Reporting to the Humanitarian and Resilience Program Manager of Christian Aid Myanmar, the Protection and Partnership Program Officer will work closely with the ECHO-supported humanitarian response team and the Consortium Management Unit.

The role is responsible for steering the coordination and management of the ECHO-supported humanitarian response project, working closely with the Senior Humanitarian Programme Officer and consortium partners to ensure high-impact delivery. This includes managing grants via CA systems, maintaining rigorous financial and reporting compliance, and overseeing project monitoring and impact learning. A core focus is placed on fostering strong relationships with local partners through mentoring and capacity building, ensuring that protection, safeguarding, and CHS standards are met. Furthermore, the position ensures that project interventions are inclusive, conflict-sensitive, and grounded in a 'Do No Harm' approach, effectively incorporating the diverse needs and feedback of affected communities into all planning and operational processes.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be required to be proactive, approachable, and adaptable. You will demonstrate an appreciation of organizational objectives and an ability to adapt to our organizational culture. You will also possess demonstrable experience in providing excellent, hands-on program operations on a timely basis to meet humanitarian project and partner needs, alongside an openness to learning.

You possess significant experience working in humanitarian assistance with concrete experience in local partnership management, coupled with a sound knowledge of institutional donors’ policies—especially UK AID, ECHO, UN, MHF, Irish Aid, and other multi-donor funded programs.
