This innovative project, funded through the Families First programme, will deliver early intervention support across Neath Port Talbot. The project will support children and young people aged between five and twenty-five alongside their parents and carers. The focus is to help promote healthy relationships and reduce the risks connected with online harm.

The service operates flexibly, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening work required to deliver workshops for parents and young people, as well as school holiday provision and more intensive support where needed. Working hours will be agreed in consultation with families and in response to service demand, therefore flexibility is essential.

The service will be delivered through a joint approach, with schools and community partners in Neath Port Talbot. This is a community-facing role requiring the ability to work across a range of settings and adapt delivery methods to meet the needs of diverse families.

What does the role entail?

Support the preparation and delivery of trauma-informed interventions through group work and workshops
Support the whole family to understand healthy relationships
Help families develop the skill and resilience needed to navigate online spaces safely
Work directly with parents and carers to build confidence and skills in keeping their children safe online
Recording accurately interactions with families
Evaluating and revising interventions
Safeguarding and working with other professionals
Assist with data collection if required

We would love to see the following demonstrated in your application:

Sound knowledge and experience of child protection and Safeguarding
Experience of working in a multi-agency approach
Experience of working directly with children and young people
Experience and knowledge of working with children and young people impacted by online harm and unhealthy relationships
Ability to recognise and respond to equality, equity and diversity needs of service users and their families.
Experience of working in a Team or on your own (after induction).
Experience of delivering groups
Being organised and able to prioritise tasks

Additional Information for your consideration:

The successful candidate(s) will be given a full induction to Barnardo's and be supported throughout your employment by a designated line manager and fellow colleagues.
Full training will be provided relating to the role and you can access training provided by Barnardo's and other agencies.
Travel expenses relating to the role will be reimbursed in accordance with Barnardo's expenses policy currently @ 45p per mile.
