We are seeking a Project Support & Fundraising Officer to support our team in the UK and overseas in delivering a worldwide programme of action to prevent and treat needless disability. Location: Office-based (Haywards Heath) with some travel throughout West Sussex Salary: This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) £24,000-£26,000 per annum Benefits: 25 days paid annual holiday, plus bank holidays. 5% pension contribution. Enhanced sick pay. Contract type: Fixed-term for 12 months, with the intention to extend depending on funding and performance ABOUT THE ROLE IMPACT Foundation UK comprises a small, dedicated team working closely with partners in Asia and Africa to deliver inspiring projects which aim to prevent and treat needless disability. Closer to home, we also run the IMPACT Tasty Team in West Sussex. This is a thriving nutrition project designed to give people the tools they need to eat healthily on a limited budget. We prioritise working with members of our local community who may be experiencing financial hardship; isolation; health difficulties; or other challenges which place them at risk of diet-related disease and ill-health. This successful food project has been running since 2004 and has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. We celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2025 and have benefited almost 53 million people around the world so far. We are now looking for an enthusiastic person to become an integral part of the team as we look to the future. The Project & Fundraising Support Officer role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad experience across UK and international programme delivery; fundraising; communications and marketing; and essential administrative functions. ABOUT THE CANDIDATE For this role, personal attributes are considered more important than prior experience. The successful candidate will be highly motivated; keen and quick to learn; and willing to undertake a wide range of tasks. They will demonstrate a positive, proactive approach, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to provide appropriate, thoughtful and compassionate support to project beneficiaries, donors, volunteers, trustees and overseas colleagues is essential. The role requires the ability to work effectively both as part of a collaborative team and independently when required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES UK programme delivery (50%) • Helping the UK Programme Manager to develop, implement and grow the IMPACT Tasty Team nutrition project in West Sussex. This work includes: supporting and recruiting volunteers; helping to plan, prepare and occasionally deliver cooking and food tasting sessions; liaising with stakeholders, such as schools and other charities; measuring, monitoring and reporting on project activities; ensuring budgets are adhered to; raising vital funds and working with donors to ensure grant reporting requirements are met; administration of the project; ensuring safeguarding and training needs are met for staff and volunteers; producing publicity and project materials; raising the profile of the project through digital channels; and any other tasks needed to ensure the success of the project. Other (detailed below) (50%) The role will support the delivery of IMPACT’s fundraising strategy and contribute to raising £2m+ each year by assisting IMPACT’s fundraisers in the development, management and diversification of our income streams. These include UK trusts and foundations; statutory funders; community fundraising; individual supporters and major donors. Duties will include: Fundraising • Gathering information; writing reports; drafting fundraising proposals; identifying new funding opportunities; and data input as required. • Cultivating and nurturing relationships with new and existing donors to raise donations and drive our UK and international projects forward. • Assisting with direct mail appeals to donors and, from time to time, events. Marketing and communications • Assisting with the production of fundraising and marketing literature such as newsletters, annual reviews and digital communications. • Working with colleagues in the UK and overseas to generate engaging online content for social media channels and the IMPACT website. • Maintaining the IMPACT photographic library. International programme support • Communicating with and supporting international partners as required. • Converting data and reports received from programme partners into clear, accessible materials that demonstrate how the charity’s work changes lives and producing reports for a range of audiences. • Reviewing partners’ narrative and statistical reports to ensure that activities delivered meet the requirements of specific grants and agreements. ‘Back office’ tasks crucial to the charity’s effectiveness • Assisting with general administrative activities, including responding to telephone and email enquiries. • Processing donations and maintaining records in the absence of the Office Manager, or at their request. • Participating in trustee, staff and fundraising meetings. Any other reasonable activity as needed for the successful operation of IMPACT. PERSON SPECIFICATION This is an entry-level role, and personal attributes are considered more important than prior experience.
