Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Project Assistant (North).

The role will help deliver our landscape and species recovery projects across the North Yorkshire area safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard. The North team work across several streams of work covering landscape and catchment-scale habitat restoration and creation, and species surveying and monitoring.

Assisting with all project stages, from opportunity identification and project design, to on the ground delivery you will undertake practical tasks with a range of habitat management and monitoring techniques, with occasional supervision of volunteers and use of hand and power tools. You will also engage with volunteers, stakeholders and contractors and local communities to build and maintain relationships and assist with the future management of projects, whilst promoting the vision of the Trust.

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player, who enjoys spending time outside undertaking physical and practical tasks, but who is equally at home in the office on project administration. You will have a good level of fitness and mobility, with excellent time management skills and the ability to forward plan. As well as excellent written and verbal communication you will need skills in recording and inputting data and be IT literate in MS programmes including Word and Excel. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across North Yorkshire are essential for the role.
