Location: Remote – open to candidates both in the UK and overseas. UK-based candidates are welcome to work from Dialogue Earth’s London office.
Position: Project Assistant – Green Steel
Hours: 16 hours/ 2 days per week (0.4 FTE)
Contract type: Fixed-term until 31st October 2026, with potential for extension depending on funding.
Day rate: £175 GBP / $235 USD per day (8 hours)
Start date: As soon as possible

Introduction:
Dialogue Earth is looking for a part-time project assistant with an interest in the steel industry to help support its coverage of industrial decarbonisation. The assistant role will be dedicated to driving the reach and impact of our coverage of green steel. They will support our work to build audiences and engagement, and to establish and manage partnerships with international and local media, including those in or covering our priority countries (China, India, Brazil and South Africa). The assistant will also support editorial planning and delivery of articles, to ensure that impact and audience are considered at each stage of a story’s journey, with occasional opportunities to contribute to editorial outputs.

Dialogue Earth is a not-for-profit organisation that is independent of any government. Dialogue Earth promotes communication on the environment and climate change in multiple languages. We aim to foster a common purpose across political, ideological and cultural boundaries by publishing independent and accurate information on environmental and climate issues, and by facilitating tolerant and constructive dialogue.
Main Responsibilities:
● Support outreach to and partnerships with media and other key stakeholders in industry and environmental space;
● Work with the Dialogue Earth’s industry transition editor and regional editors to contribute to editorial planning, dissemination and promotion of our green steel coverage;
● Work with Dialogue Earth’s social media team in developing strategies to engage industry audiences, alongside writing and scheduling content for LinkedIn;
Monitor news and developments around green steel to identify opportunities for coverage, partnerships and increased impact of Dialogue Earth reporting.

Essential experience, knowledge and skills:
● Proven interest in the steel industry and awareness of its decarbonisation challenges; ● Demonstrable experience of building and managing partnerships with media;
Full working proficiency in English and, ideally, knowledge of a local language in our focus countries (China, India, Brazil or South Africa).

Experience in journalism is preferred, with previous work as an impact, engagement or audience editor desirable;

Experience in communications or marketing that engages industry leaders through organic content and paid strategy on LinkedIn is also desirable.
