We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager with extensive Economic Empowerment experience and a strong focus on disability and gender inclusion to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination for the implementation of the MasterCard Foundation, Digital Futures Programme in Kenya.
Sightsavers and Mastercard Foundation is partnering with Digital Futures, a bold initiative under the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy and Sightsavers’ mission to promote inclusive development. The programme aims to improve access to dignified and fulfilling work for young people with disabilities across Africa, with a strong focus on young women.
Over 4.5 years, the programme will enrol 12,200 young people with disabilities, at least 70% of whom will be women and reach over 14,700 others through community engagement. By providing market-relevant digital, IT, and entrepreneurship training, seed funding, and systemic engagement with employers, policymakers, and representative organisations, the programme addresses barriers to inclusion in the digital economy and supports the development of inclusive ecosystems and workforce practices.
As Programme Manager for Kenya, you will implement and lead the Digital Futures programme in country. Reporting to the Digital Futures Programme Manager, you will ensure that programme interventions strengthen digital and IT skills training, promote inclusive employment pathways, and advance disability inclusive practices across public and private sector institutions.
Responsibilities
As Programme Manager Kenya – Digital Futures, you will:
- Provide overall leadership, planning, and coordination of the Digital Futures programme in Kenya
- Ensure high quality execution of digital, IT, and entrepreneurship training in collaboration with IT Bridge Academies and training providers
- Oversee community outreach, mobilisation, recruitment, and onboarding of young people with disabilities into the programm
- Manage relationships with all implementing partners, including OPDs, training institutions, digital academies, and private sector actors
- Provide technical backstopping and capacity building support on disability inclusion, safeguarding and inclusive employment
- Develop employer capacity building pathways on disability inclusion and inclusive HR practices
- Oversee linkage of programme participants to mentorship, internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities
- Lead budget preparation, oversight, ensuring alignment between expenditure and donor/organisational financial procedure
- Provide strategic oversight for data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting in line with MEAL frameworks

Skills and Experience
- Solid experience in programme management within INGOs, social impact programmes, youth employment, or digital skills development initiatives.
- Proven experience leading digital skills, employability, entrepreneurship, or labour market programmes.
- Strong experience in skills development, employer engagement, internships/placements, and disability inclusion.
- Experience in working with OPDs, persons with disabilities and other actors in the disability sector and on gender intersectionality.
- Experience engaging youth, TVET institutions, digital academies, employers, and OPDs.
