JOB PURPOSE
To develop fundraising and communications materials and coordinate events for Amnesty International's multiyear restricted programmes of work. The role will manage donor reporting across multiple teams to keep Amnesty International's donors and senior leadership informed of progress; support the development of funding applications; coordinate donor events; and assist in producing timely proposals for emergency funds. Overall, working across the team to support raising restricted income.
ABOUT YOU
Do you understand and have experience of fundraising with Major Donors and Trusts and Foundations? Do you excel at and enjoy writing? Can you write for different audiences to get people excited about human rights work? We are looking for a candidate who has excellent writing and communications skills, able to write funding proposals and narrative reports and be creative in developing compelling visuals. We need someone who has experience of and enjoys running or coordinating donor events, particularly online. You will need to work flexibly and be adaptable, often to conflicting and tight deadlines. You are relational and enjoy working with global teams across the Amnesty movement.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and write donor proposals and narrative reports for our multiyear programmes; including programmes related to Climate, Gender and Racial Justice, Countering Authoritarian Practices, Emergencies and Crisis Response.
- Develop visually compelling fundraising materials for these programmes; including infographics, PowerPoints, cases for support, presentations, videos.
- Coordinate donor events with Amnesty International's fundraisers, and internal events that bring stakeholders together from different teams across Amnesty.
- Be the main point of contact for the movement's fundraisers, providing them with information on impact, activity and output related to the International Secretariat's multiyear programmes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written skills with a proven ability to explain complex issues clearly for a variety of internal and external audiences (including donors) in innovative and engaging ways.
- Knowledge of supporting large scale restricted programmes of work with a variety of international trusts, foundations, institutional sources, major donors and individual giving.
- Experience of coordinating internal stakeholder and donor events, including online webinars.
- Proven work experience as Programme Officer, Coordinator or similar role.
