BACA is hiring a Production Manager — join the team behind Butetown Carnival 2026
Butetown Carnival — Wales’s largest celebration of cultural diversity — returns 30–31 August 2026.
We’re looking for a freelance Production Manager to work alongside the Creative Director from July 2026 through to March 2027.
Part-time. 60 days. £225/day.
The role spans the full production cycle: artist and event logistics, workshop coordination, volunteer support, communications, administration and supporting funding and reporting requirements.
You’ll be working across the intensity of Carnival production itself, while also supporting the wider organisational and development work that continues beyond the event.
You’ll need strong organisational ability and experience in arts, events, festivals or community-based cultural work. You should be comfortable managing multiple workstreams independently and working within a fast-moving, community-rooted environment.
Knowledge of Butetown and Cardiff Bay is important. Experience with large-scale outdoor events, freelancers or the Welsh cultural funding landscape would be an advantage. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
