We are looking for a skilled and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team. The Procurement function is part of the Finance Directorate, reporting through Strategic Management Accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to lead national‑level procurement projects that truly matter, ensuring every pound spent supports our mission, delivers best value, and contributes to meaningful social and community outcomes.
Key Accountabilities as our Procurement Specialist:
- Lead and manage an annual pipeline of strategic procurement projects across goods, services, and works.
- Advise and guide stakeholders on procurement processes, commercial best practice, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to The Public Contract Regulations 2015, The Procurement Act 2023 and internal procurement policies.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to shape specifications, evaluation models, KPIs, and performance measures.
- Conduct market research and analysis, and identify optimal procurement strategies.
- Support contract mobilisation and ongoing supplier engagement.
- Champion social value, sustainability, and continuous improvement across all procurement activity.
This role is key in helping us optimise processes, strengthen governance, and build procurement excellence across the organisation.
About you
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced IT capability, including Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proven experience managing tendering processes and applying UK public procurement rules and legislation.
- Solid understanding of contract management best practice.
