THE SHEFFIELD WEST RIDING CHARITABLE SOCIETY TRUST
The Diocese of Sheffield
Full-time
7th May 2026
Listed today

St Catherine’s is a parish in the Catholic tradition which seen by the Diocese as a key place to invest in. As such, the Diocese has been successful in securing funding from the national church in order to make this a full-time post guaranteed for six years. In order to give it the best chance of success, funding is secured for additional capacity so that the new incumbent can build his own employed staff team to support him and the team at St Catherine’s to flourish from day one.

Are you:

  • A man of prayer with a vision to build on our existing ministry and work with St Matthew’s Carver Street to grow our congregation?
  • A priest of The Society who will play their full part in the life of the Diocese of Sheffield, offering your gifts and insights for the good of the wider church?
  • A leader who will look at fresh ways to reach out to the wider community – developing links with local schools, care homes and community groups?
  • A committed person who will support the Diocesan vison, of making disciples and transforming our society and Gods world, building teams of disciples, rather than doing everything themselves?
  • Someone who will support the church wardens, PCC and the congregation in developing a stronger and more evangelistic parish – using the sacramental life to grow the Church?

If so, then we would love to hear from you!

St Catherine’s has passed a Resolution under the House of Bishop’ Declaration concerning the ordination of women as bishops and priests and receives sacramental oversight from the Bishop of Beverley.
