Pre-Prep Receptionist
Fixed Term, Full-time (8am-4pm) Monday-Friday

King Edward’s School, Bath is seeking a warm, professional and highly organised Pre-Prep Receptionist to provide a welcoming first point of contact for children, parents, visitors and staff. This varied role is central to the smooth day-to-day running of the Pre-Prep office, supporting communications, administration and family liaison while helping to maintain a caring, safe and well-organised school environment.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Pre-Prep Receptionist include, but are not limited to:
- Providing a warm and professionalfirst point of contact for children, parents, visitors and staff.
- Managing the day-to-dayrunning of the Pre-Prep reception area and office.
- Respondingto telephone, email and in-person enquiries in a helpful and efficient manner.
- Supporting communicationwith parents, including messages, newsletters and school updates.
- Maintaining accurate pupil recordsand assisting with general school administration.
- Supporting the organisationof trips, events and extra-curricular activities.
- Liaising closelywith teaching staff, support staff and wider school departments.
- Upholding safeguarding proceduresand helping to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Warm, approachableand professional communication skills.
- Excellent customer serviceand interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skillsand the ability to manage a busy reception area.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Teams.
- Ability to build positive relationshipswith children, parents and colleagues.
- A calm, flexible and proactive approachto day-to-day tasks.
- High levels of discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail.
- An understanding of safeguardingresponsibilities within a school environment.
