PR & Marketing Officer

Location: Wolverhampton, WV3 9DH

Hours: 22.50 hours per week

Salary: £30,110 per annum (pro-rata)

What we do

Compton Care provides high quality, accessible care and support for the people in our communities living with life limiting conditions across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire.

The charity’s annual running costs are £16 million, 70% of this running cost is funded through our stores, fundraising, and donations from our amazing supporters.

About the Role:

Working side‑by‑side with our brilliant staff and volunteers across the organisation, you’ll be right at the heart of creating awareness about the many aspects of Compton Care. From creating clinical literature to Instagram reels and from crafting campaign videos to Gala night photoshoots … this role is nothing if not varied!!

The mission? To help us build stronger connections with our community through standout PR and marketing expertise.

You’ll bring fresh ideas, a proactive mindset, and a passion for getting Compton Care seen and celebrated. With an eye for new social media trends and modern marketing techniques, you’ll help us create clever online campaigns and scroll‑stopping content that definitely turns heads. You’ll play a key part in growing awareness and showing the community what Compton is all about!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or qualified by experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in a PR / Communications / Marketing environment.
  • Proven experience of managing a team in a communications and marketing environment.
  • Proven experience of building media partnerships and building and retaining relationships with key media contacts.
  • Proven experience of developing, executing, and evaluating integrated marketing and engagement campaigns and activities across print and digital channels to increase brand awareness, drive leads and increase conversions.
  • Expertise and knowledge of the full spectrum of online and offline marketing, including SEO, PPC, CRO, brand development, content creation, marketing automation, CRM, email, web and social.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills - in particular identifying and developing messages and communication vehicles.
  • Experience analysing data to measure and track ROI and help inform strategy.
  • Excellent writing and proofing skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Top notch IT skills to include Microsoft Office and an understanding of Canva/Adobe creative programs or similar. The ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Confident public speaker, with spokesperson media experience.

What We’re Looking For:

You should have experience of working in a PR or Marketing department with good communication skills with the ability to collaborate with groups and organisations to achieve the best media footage/coverage to promote Compton Care.

You will have knowledge of working with different multimedia platforms and publicity materials and be able to produce reports, project plan and manage the production of marketing materials.

You may have experience of the following: Marketing Officer Marketing Manager, PR Officer, PR Manager, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Project Manager, Communications, Digital Product Manager, Social Media Manager, Project Manager, Project Management, Product Manager, Product Management, Digital Service Manager, Email Marketing, Digital Project Coordinator, SEO, PPC, CRO, etc.
