Are you a PR Manager with experience of leading successful PR-driven stories, projects and campaigns with creativity and flair?
We are recruiting for a PR Manager to manage and oversee the PR team, acting as the the first point of contact for internal stakeholders, leading on areas of crisis management, developing a strong media relationship programme, and to be the expert within the team on everything to do with media.
What does this role do?
As PR Manager, you'll:
- manage the team so they deliver nationally and regionally, developing them as individuals and coaching them to achieve their objectives
- lead on specific stand-alone PR stories and is the PR lead for these integrated campaigns – making sure that ideas are strategic, that content and messaging are on-brand, that we are getting our message out as widely as possible and that work is ultimately successful
- manage the ‘press office’ function and media relations, ensuring we respond to media in timely, helpful fashion, getting across our intentions as clearly as possible
- take the lead on crisis communications, making sure that the team and key people are prepared, media trained, and that every eventuality is thought through
- oversees celebrity relationships through the team ensuring that we maintain our strong relationships with key supporters and develop new relationships to help support our work

To be successful in this role you'll have significant experience of leading successful PR-driven stories, projects and campaigns with creativity and flair, as well as experience of managing a press office and media relations programme.
You'll be skilled in handling crisis communications, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and when working to tight deadlines. You'll have excellent stakeholder management skills, including celebrity liaison, and you'll be a confident people manager with experience of developing high performing teams.

What does this team do?
The PR team sits within the Marketing and Communications Division at Dogs Trust. Marketing and Communications plays a central role at Dogs Trust. We help people know, love and understand the charity and take action to support the charity’s work. We use our understanding of Dogs Trust and audience need to produce impactful and creative on-brand communications, liaising with the media and celebrities, and engaging directly with our supporters. We also play a crucial role in evolving the digital supporter experience and use our internal communications expertise to communicate key messages to employees across Dogs Trust.
The PR team focuses on our media relations work – proactively selling stories into the media as well as reacting to enquiries, and ensuring we’re equipped to handle a crisis. They also lead on our work with celebrities and TV programmes.
