Place2Be is seeking an experienced and reflective Postgraduate Tutor to join our training team. The post‑holder will contribute to the delivery and development of our highly regarded BACP‑accredited Postgraduate Diploma programme, run in partnership with the University of East London. The role involves teaching, assessment and student support at postgraduate level, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences that reflect best practice in school‑based counselling, safeguarding, and anti‑oppressive practice

This role requires face‑to‑face delivery at Place2Be’s London training venue on Wednesday/Thursday during term time, with additional on‑site attendance on some Wednesdays/ Thursday  for meetings, supervision and programme activity (planned in advance and blended with online working).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver core seminars and deliver postgraduate teaching, both in person and online.
  • Deliver lectures, facilitate seminars, skills groups and tutorials at Level 7.
  • Assess written work and vivas, providing high‑quality formative and summative feedback.
  • Offer one‑to‑one tutorial support to trainees across the programme.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety responsibilities are upheld during training delivery.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, interviews and selection processes.
  • Support course development, quality assurance, standardisation and accreditation requirements.
  • Attend meetings, supervision and external moderation as required.
  • Promote Place2Be’s clinical and training work internally and externally.

What you will need: 

  • A Level 7 qualification (Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s) in counselling or psychotherapy.
  • Current or recent clinical practice with children and young people, with a minimum of two years post qualification experience in school settings.
  • BACP Accredited or UKCP / HCPC registered.
  • Experience delivering counselling or psychotherapy training, including assessment and marking.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary theory and research relevant to Diploma‑level training and above.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including working thoughtfully with difference and power dynamics
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
