Job Introduction
Play worker – Holiday Play Schemes (Weston-Super-Mare)
Brandon Trust is seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to support children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism at our holiday play schemes in Weston-Super-Mare.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals looking to build experience in education, special educational needs (SEN), and support work, while contributing to meaningful and enjoyable experiences for the children we support.

We support approximately 1,600 individuals and employ over 2,000 staff across England. Our services are delivered across a variety of settings, including community locations and people’s homes, with a strong focus on person-centred support.
Role Overview
As a Play worker, you will support the delivery of safe, engaging, and inclusive activities tailored to the needs of children and young people with additional needs.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a positive environment that promotes participation, independence, and enjoyment for all attendees.
This is a flexible role, allowing you to select shifts that align with your availability across school holiday periods.
Working Pattern
Our holiday play schemes operate during the following school holiday periods:
- February half term
- May half term
- Easter holidays
- Summer holidays
- October half term
Typical working arrangements:
- Monday to Friday during all school holidays, excluding bank holidays
- Standard hours: 9:30am – 3:30pm, with occasional extended days
Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from individuals with an interest or background in education or support work, including:
- Teaching Assistants (TAs)
- SENCO Assistants and SEN support staff
- Qualified Teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
- Students studying education, psychology, childcare, or related subjects
- College and university students seeking practical experience
- People with a genuine interest in providing a safe and fun environment for young people.
