This fantastic opportunity will enable you to learn and also assist in the delivery of Medical and Physiotherapy support to Peterborough United players, providing a comprehensive programme that is in line with the Performance Medicine programme and the club philosophy.
- Assist in the delivery of a Medical/Physiotherapy programme that reflects best practice and current clinical principles in order to support player welfare and performance.
- Support qualified medical staff in the assessment, treatment and management of injuries under appropriate supervision.
- Assist with the delivery of individualised rehabilitation programmes in line with the requirements of the medical team.
- Support pitch-side and match-day medical provision under the supervision of qualified practitioners.
- Assist with the measuring, recording and tracking of injury and treatment data for all players.
- Assist the Medical team with liaison and communication of player status and rehabilitation progress to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Identify and facilitate appropriate communication methods to explain the most effective use of medical and rehabilitation practice.
- Support the player education process and provide updates on player progress as required.
- Engage with and support both personal and departmental continuous professional development.
- Work within the rules of professional confidentiality.
- Assist in the management, maintenance and development of medical/treatment equipment and facilities.
- Any other reasonable duties.
Other responsibilities:
- Be available to travel to other sites outside of their region (if required).
- Be aware of the PUFC policies, procedures & best practice so that concerns of non-compliance can be always raised e.g. Safeguarding, Inclusion, Diversity.
- Attend meetings, training and professional updating as and when required.
- To adhere to existing working practice, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
- To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
- Self-assess and work on own personal and professional development (CPD).
- To uphold the values of Peterborough United Football Club (PUFC) and not tolerate offensive, discriminatory or intimidating language or behaviour.
- Demonstrate a commitment to PUFC’s safeguarding policy.
- Promote EFL and FA regulations and ensure compliance with theses.

Qualifications and Experience:
- A qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy from a recognised University or currently enrolled/working towards (essential).
- Current registration (or working towards eligibility for registration) with the relevant professional body for the discipline (e.g. HCPC for Physiotherapy, or SST for Sports Therapy) (desirable).
- A recognised pitch-side/emergency first aid qualification, or willingness to undertake one (desirable).
- A qualification at higher degree level (or equivalent) in a related clinical or sports science field (desirable).
Experience, skills and personal attributes: - Experience providing, or assisting with, medical/physiotherapy support to athletes, ideally within an elite sporting environment (essential).
- Knowledge and understanding of the physiology and medical demands of elite youth or first-team football players (essential).
- Able to create and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders (essential).
- Able to support the delivery of treatment and rehabilitation on a group and individual basis under supervision (essential).
- Previous experience of using Catapult GPS tracking technology and interpretation of associated data (desirable).
- Experience of using data management and analytics packages including PowerBI and Excel (desirable).
- Experience dealing with the challenges associated. With the transition of players through the Academy development pathway (desirable).
