Job Summary

We are a world leader in dance education and a prestigious awarding body. RAD’s mission is to inspire the world to dance. Based in our vibrant Battersea headquarters, close to the Thames and Clapham Junction, our studios and offices offer an energetic and inspiring place to work.

About the role

Are you an experienced fundraiser with a talent for building meaningful relationships and inspiring high-level philanthropic support? The Royal Academy of Dance is looking for a Philanthropy Manager to join our dynamic Fundraising and Development team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and stewardship of a high-value portfolio of individual major donors, playing a key part in growing our major gifts income to support the global mission of the RAD.

Working within a collaborative team of four, you will work closely with our events team to oversee our exclusive Patrons’ Circle event series, engaging donors with the capacity to give five-six figure gifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate, steward, and grow a portfolio of high-level prospects and existing individual donors to maximise support.
  • Strategic Event Planning: Partner with the events team to deliver the ongoing Patrons’ Circle event series and collaborate with senior leadership to shape its five-year growth plan.
  • Network & Prospect Development: Initiate prospect research and work alongside RAD supporters, board members, and senior stakeholders to connect with new networks.
  • Stewardship & Compliance: Ensure all gifts are promptly and beautifully acknowledged, maintaining precise records in line with UK GDPR and ethical policies, and the Fundraising Code of Practice.
  • Collaborative Impact: Work across the organisation to champion a positive, organisation-wide fundraising culture, embodying our value of ‘one RAD’.
What we are looking for
  • Proven experience in managing and stewarding high-net-worth individuals and securing major gifts.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to create compelling cases for support and present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working alongside events teams and senior leadership.
  • Highly organised, with an analytical approach to prospect pipelines and a solid understanding of the Fundraising Code of Practice and GDPR.
Why work for us?
