About the role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and flexible Personal Care Assistants to join a small, supportive care team in Musselburgh.
You will support a Clinical Research Scientist with Muscular Dystrophy, who uses a powered wheelchair, to live independently in his own home. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building a positive working relationship and supporting an active, independent lifestyle.
The employer enjoys theatre, film, cafés, exploring new places, and spending time with family, so the role suits someone who is friendly, adaptable, and happy to be part of day-to-day life and occasional social activities.
What you’ll do
- Provide support with all aspects of personal care.
- Assist with daily living and household tasks.
- Support independent living and community access where required.
- Drive the employer’s adapted vehicle as needed.
- Work as part of a small team providing 24/7 support on a planned rota.
No previous care experience is required — full training will be provided.
What we offer
- £15.50 per hour
- 12–24 contracted hours per week with flexible shift options
- 4-week rolling rota so you can plan ahead

- Full paid training and ongoing support
About you
You will be:
- Reliable, conscientious, and respectful of privacy and independence
- Friendly, adaptable, and able to work calmly as part of a team
- Comfortable supporting someone with physical care needs
- Willing to learn and follow agreed support routines
Essential
- Full UK or EU driving licence valid in the UK (you will drive the employer’s vehicle)
