Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires support to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to Helen:
Helen is a happy lady who attends a Day Centre Monday to Friday each week, requiring support there on a Monday to Friday with her Personal Assistant. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Helen’s support time is 9am – 6:15 pm. Staff will meet Helen at her home at 9am to then travel to the day centre. Helen is then picked up from the day centre at 2:45pm and staff support Helen at home until 6:15pm when her sister returns from work. On Wednesday’s Helens support time starts at 8am at home and staff will support Helen in the day centre in the morning and then swimming during the day returning home with Helen for 3pm. Helen does not require at home support in the afternoons on a Wednesday and Friday. Helen has weekend support 11-4pm on a Saturday OR a Sunday on a rotation of every second or third weekend between staff that work within Helen’s service.
Helen very much enjoys other activities such as cinema, bowling and going for walks or trips in the car depending on the weather. Helen enjoys watching movies and playing her DVDS and enjoys doing this in her own room at home when she returns from teh Day Centre for the day.
Helen enjoys swimming, this is one of her favourite hobbies! Helen goes swimming to the local gym every Wednesday. Potential PAs will support Helen to get ready for swimming and within the pool. Sadly, it’s not always possible for Helen to enjoy what many people would consider the simple pleasures in life without her support in place.
That is why Helen needs you! Will you bring your best so that Helen can live her best life?
