A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 7-year-old boy living in the Barry area. I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially visiting the seaside, local parks and places where I feel safe and settled. I also enjoy visiting my local farm at quieter times, as I like seeing the animals. I have lots of books and often enjoy trips to the bookstore in Cardiff.

I have Autism, which can sometimes make me feel anxious, particularly when I am in busy places, large crowds or around loud noises. I am non-verbal and communicate by pointing to things and using a communication board. I am usually very calm and chilled when I feel comfortable and supported.

A potential Personal Assistant will need to be aware that I have no road sense and may sometimes run off, so close supervision will be needed when we are out in the community. My mum uses an XL pushchair for me, as this helps me feel safe and secure when we are out.

The purpose of the role is to support me when I am out in the community and to assist my mum, so that we can go out together safely with my younger brother.
