A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a man of 32 who lives in Penarth Marina with my parents and two cats. I like watching rugby, especially Cardiff and I also play rugby for a local mixed ability team. I am a MASSIVE wrestling fan and used to train. I love watching live wrestling shows; everything from the local shows in Cathays community centre - bigger events at The Tramshed & also arena shows. I enjoy travelling further afield for shows and events also.

I’m a big fan of Disney, Marvel and DC films but also enjoy comedies, action films and Star Wars. I am a big EastEnders fan. I enjoy going to gigs, theatre and the cinema, playing pool and bowling. I also play cricket and basketball when I am not rehearsing or performing.

I am an actor/performer with HiJinx, which is an inclusive theatre company & I have an eclectic music taste - I especially like pop music and RnB. I enjoy live music and I sing/perform with a band as well. On a Friday morning I go to Upbeat which is an informal singing session in Fairwater, Cardiff and this advert is to help me atend that session.

I am a very sociable and generally happy, chilled person. I can be quite anxious going into new situations and can be quiet until I suss things out. I have mild/moderate learning and speech difficulties.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking for a Personal Assistant to:

1) generally support me to maintain and develop my independence and

2) specifically to be a support ‘buddy’ on a Friday to allow me to attend the Upbeat session & then go for a few games of pool after, or something equally chilled, for an hour or so.

HOURS OF WORK

Fixed 0930 to 1330 on a Friday - other ad hoc hours may be available from time to time and by mutual agreement.

RATES OF PAY

£15.10 per hour. (Plus holiday pay and expenses), paid 4 weekly in arrears by bank transfer.

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Facilitate me attendingUpBeat music sessions:
    • i.e. Pick me up from home in Penarth - drive to session in Fairwater - go somewhere for game or 2 of pool - drive me back home.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
