I confirm that I have the right to work in the UK and am able to prove my eligibility status when required to do so. (required): Yes
Please read the Job Description carefully before providing information in this Section of the Application Form. Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I am currently studying Business and Management, where I have developed strong organisational and communication skills. Alongside this, I have experience working as a waiter/bartender, which required patience, attentiveness, and the ability to stay calm in busy or stressful situations. Through this role, I have learned how to respond to different people’s needs, remain patient, and communicate effectively even when situations are challenging. These skills are important when supporting a child who may struggle to communicate or become distressed. I am also active and enjoy being outdoors, which suits this role well. I understand the importance of safety and being alert at all times, especially when supporting a child who may not be aware of danger. I am reliable, calm, and willing to take the time to build trust and provide a safe and supportive environment.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe the most important qualities are patience, attentiveness, and empathy. It is important to understand that communication may be different, especially with a non-verbal child, so being observant and responsive to behaviour is key. Safety awareness is also extremely important in this role, as well as being calm and reliable. Building trust is essential, so being consistent, kind, and supportive helps the child feel comfortable and secure.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I would contribute by providing a safe and supportive environment while encouraging the child to enjoy activities they like, such as being outdoors or around nature. I would always ensure close supervision, especially when outside, to keep them safe. I would also focus on building a trusting relationship first, taking time to understand their behaviour and needs. By being patient and encouraging, I would help them feel comfortable exploring and socialising at their own pace.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me is the opportunity to make a positive difference in a child’s life. I find it rewarding to support someone in feeling safe, happy, and able to enjoy activities they love. I also value building a strong, trusting bond and being someone the child and family can rely on. Helping a child engage with the world in a safe and positive way is something I find very meaningful.
What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy staying active, going to the gym, and spending time outdoors, which I think fits well with this role. I also enjoy socialising and being around people, and I have a calm and positive personality. I like watching sports and relaxing with films or shows, and I am open-minded and patient, which helps me connect well with others. i play guitar and im into music as well.
