A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am an 81-year-old lady living in the Barry area. I am a friendly woman who likes to have a laugh and really enjoy getting out and about as much as possible. I enjoy going to Cardiff, as this is where I am from, to go shopping. I can be quite a picky person though.
My diagnosis does cause me to experience delusions and some memory loss, but I am fully mobile.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I am looking for a PA to support me to access the community safely, take me shopping and to provide me with some company.
HOURS OF WORK
I have 6 hours per week available which will be used in two, three-hour shifts.
Ideally this would be Wednesday and Thursday afternoon but some flexibility here. Although it will not be Tuesday or Friday due to other commitments.
RATES OF PAY
£15.20 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
- Taking me out to Cardiff.
- Going shopping with me.
- Providing me with company, having a chat and making tea/coffee.
- Potential to support me to pick up medication etc.
- Support with some domestic tasks.
- Helping me to manage some life admin.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- A non-smoker is preferred.
- A bubbly person who likes to have a laugh.
- Someone who will engage with me.
- A car driver is preferred as public transport takes too long to get into Cardiff.
- A friendly and kind person.
- A reliable and punctual person.
- Someone who understands the privacy of working in someone else’s home.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
