Personal Assistant required for fun, energetic young boy!
KCA is a 10-year-old boy who lives in the G13 area of the city. He thrives on routine, structure, and predictability. This helps him to feel secure and confident in his day-to-day routines and activities.
KCA values choice and independence and enjoys doing things in his own way. He benefits from gentle guidance, patience, and a calm/flexible approach. Consistency and reassurance are important for him and having this consistent support. He is a lovely, energetic, and engaging boy with a great personality.
A typical day for KCA may include escorting him home from school, spending some time on the iPad, supporting him with homework, and learning through play. It may include spending time doing activities/hobbies that he enjoys, such as arts and craft activities and accessing swimming. KCA has autism and he enjoys active play and may spend time in the garden and on the trampoline to release energy. It may be supporting him to also attend after school club on Wednesdays.
As KCA’s Personal Assistant you will provide personal and domestic tasks such as making simple meals/snacks, warming, and serving meals prepared by mum and general cleaning around meal prep areas and at the table. Your role may also include supporting with shopping, supporting him with personal care tasks, accompanying the family on days out, and helping to maintain structure and engagement for him in his daily activities.
KCA is looking for someone who is ideally local to the area or within easy commuting distance and is flexible and reliable. KCA is also looking for someone who Is confident, caring, self-lead and has great attention to detail. Experience supporting people with autism is desirable.
The role requires 16 hours per week at a rate of £13.60 per hour. This is typically 3 hours per day, Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work. Start and finish times will be discussed at interview.
