Meet JM:

JM is a friendly and happy 12-year-old boy with a beautiful smile that lights up his face! He loves being active, getting outdoors and taking part in a wide range of fun activities.

JM’s Hobbies and Interests:

JM enjoys a mix of outdoor and indoor activities, including:

· Going for walks outdoors

· Swimming

· Visiting parks

· Travelling on busses and visiting the bus station

· Colouring in

· Listening to music

· Playing games on Xbox or tablet

· Visiting the Yard adventure playground, one of his favourite places.

· Trying new activities such as climbing- JM is physically very capable and loves climbing!

The role:

As JM’s personal assistant, you will support him at home and in the community, helping him to enjoy his routine and access activities safely.

You will also:

· Support JM to enjoy activities and outings across Glasgow

· Assist with daily routines, including prompting with eating and personal care.

· Support JM to make informed choices

· Use signs, symbols or visual supports to help with transitions

· Keeping JM safe while encouraging his independence

JM responds best to adults who take time to get to know him and build a trusting, positive relationship.

Hours & Pay:

· 10 hours per week

· £13.60 per hour.

· Shifts are flexible and will be discussed at interview

· Some weekend; bank holiday and school holiday work will be required.

About you

You will be friendly, patient, energetic and enjoy working one-to-one with a young person. You will take time to get to know JM and support him in a positive, encouraging way.
