A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a friendly and engaging 19-year-old young man living at home with my family in Treforest. I enjoy football, the gym, music, gaming (especially Rocket League and handheld gaming), arcades and going out for food.

I like routine, consistency, and spending time doing the things I enjoy. I respond best to people who are calm, patient, and able to communicate clearly and directly, with a sense of humour.

At times I can experience anxiety and frustration, particularly if I feel under pressure or things don’t go as expected, so having the right support around me is really important.

I enjoy being active (e.g. gym), which helps me manage my energy and emotions positively. I am developing independence skills and will be starting college soon, so support should focus on building confidence and autonomy

PURPOSE OF JOB

The role is to support me to:

  • Access community activities and social opportunities
  • Build my independence and confidence
  • Manage situations that may cause anxiety or frustration
  • Prepare for adulthood, including attending college and developing life skills

The successful PA should help me focus on reducing triggers and promoting positive routines, independence and emotional regulation.

  • Recognise early signs of distress (e.g. raised voice, tense body language, withdrawing) and respond appropriately
  • Support me to use positive coping strategies, such as taking space, going for a walk, or engaging in calming activities
  • Avoid placing unnecessary pressure or demands and use a flexible, person-centred approach
  • Support me to safely engage online and in the community where appropriate
  • Promote my wellbeing while respecting my choices and boundaries at all times.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Be calm, patient and understanding, particularly during times of anxiety or frustration
